I'm just starting to write, and I'm wondering if my methods are the norm or if it is bad technique to do as I do.
First of all.
Do you type on a computer or write free-hand? There is something about writing freehand I love, a kind of old time feel, but I type about 5 times faster than I write, but it seems to kill the inspiration sometimes. I imagine writing everything down, then typing it over would work...but that would take like 5 times as long.
Also, before you start writing your stories, do you know everything about your characters? Even down to their favorite food, their quirks, their enjoyments? It seems I can never make it to the story because I'm to busy writing down side-notes about the main-characters personality or something.
Thanks!
