It is more germane to today’s environment as a matter of fact as we are torn between “to do” or “not to do” ideas. Today we are passing thru stages that are really undergoing a taxing challenging time, a phase of history that will be remembered a great deal.
Here the main question is socio-economic and we can not remain unconcerned at this critical juncture. Of course we are men of letters or literature for that matter and of course we seem distant or aloof from the goings-on nationally and internationally but the fact is that we are social animals and as such everything is part of the ecosystem.
Now the theme is coming upon the antidote to this sick world. I have read how families keep on collapsing with the shrinkages of their financials and in point of fact this should not happen.
The fact is man keeps on hounding large masses of wealth and there is no end or point of contentment even if everything gets caved in at the end of the day, and this never satiating greed is one of the reasons why most are unhappy.
Greed is an inexorable truth and we need it, but the proportion of it leads to wisdom and astuteness but if can not stop at a point it becomes impropriety and leads to the unthinkable-suicides, tortures, intimidation, sadism, violent behavior.
Spirituality could rescue people but today spirituality is on sale and in point of fact our spiritual masters have commercialized it or commoditized it. They take fees and help you with arriving at solutions and you get blackmailed ultimately.
All I feel is, as I am a voracious reader of spiritual books and a diehard practicener. My advocacy is one need not go to a Guru. Everyone is a Guru and pupil and no one has emerged as a flawless Guru based on our recorded historical documents.
Wealth is a necessity and we can not discard it at all at this point in history and we are already innately obsessed with wealth.
But the point I want to put forward is that we must understand the very meaning of wealth or the root of its origin in point of fact. It finds its origin in commerce and commerce is not always carried with the right dose of ethics.
Amassing wealth must go with adding or creating value and the higher the value you have added or created the larger the amount of wealth you must amass. But here in our current socio-economic scaffold the less the amount of value you add the higher the amount of wealth you can partake of or accumulate. There are ways, most are crooked and wicked and your wealth multiples and your value addition or creation shrink.
That is why happiness and wealth does not go in sync.
