I heard this on the radio today.

On his death bed, Nabokov asked that his unfinished novel "Laura" be destroyed. However his widow could not bear to do so and kept it locked away. It has now come to his son, who has decided to publish it in its unfinished state.

Is he right to do so?

Yes, I want to read it.

Yes, yes, yes, books have a life of their own. Set Laura free, I say!

We are very accustomed these kind of things as a literature society, and are very successful(and cheeky) to find excuses, for what we do. "IN THE NAME OF ART" solves everything.

Can the dead dictate to the living?
