Hey,
I am someone whose dream is to become a big writer and as we all know writers do present idealistic thoughts d ideas that change or shape a certain society or a nation.

This question have just crossed my mind out of the blue : what do you expect from a foreign writer, a middle easter or Bahraini for example, to write about? what do you want from him to illustrate exactly that then you can say " he is worthy of readin"?

Regards,
Amylian.

Nothing different like from any other writer - a good book! Nationality, culture or religion is totally irrelevant.

I agree. Maybe I expect to learn more about a different culture or country... but basically what I want is a good book. Publishers should realize that just being "exotic" isn't enough. I've had enough of badly written memoirs from people who lived in a faraway place and/or survived poverty and/or harsh regimes... On the other hand, if a book is well written, it doesn't matter whether it was written by a Nepalese or by somebody living around the corner from me.

I'm one of those people who wants the author to go into as much detail about the culture and every day lives, if it's that kind of book. Theres nothing better than reading what it's like Iran or Guatemala knowing I might not actually get to go to those places. It's not good though if it doesn't truly capture the the spirit of the place, bland is bland no matter what country.

Whatever is important to him. If he doesn't care deeply about it, there's no reason anyone else should.
