Tonight
I looked to my stars above
The moon has whispered to me
Though by the lake, I deafen
Her half face stares at me
She has grown tired of my face
A saddening truth that I know
Yet loyal she sits on her throne
The lake is still as death
I dare not touch the glass surface
The foolish wind speaks of dawn
Winter's frost crawls towards me
May its ice pierce my skin,
But may it never grip my heart
Forever my heart will lie in my corpse
Trees stand bare, unaware of me
Only hemlock holds promise
Tight as the vine that strangles me,
But I must breathe
The darkness needs my starlight
Death may steal yet another soul,
But with the moon, life prevails
I looked to my stars above
The moon has whispered to me
Though by the lake, I deafen
Her half face stares at me
She has grown tired of my face
A saddening truth that I know
Yet loyal she sits on her throne
The lake is still as death
I dare not touch the glass surface
The foolish wind speaks of dawn
Winter's frost crawls towards me
May its ice pierce my skin,
But may it never grip my heart
Forever my heart will lie in my corpse
Trees stand bare, unaware of me
Only hemlock holds promise
Tight as the vine that strangles me,
But I must breathe
The darkness needs my starlight
Death may steal yet another soul,
But with the moon, life prevails
