Hi all, I recently finished my brand new rap CD called Music From and Inspired by Classic Literature, it's five rap songs based on five literature works from around the world.

here's the tracklist and the cover:
1. Ambitions as a Rider (based on Macbeth by William Shakespeare)
2. You Might Have Been (based on Genesis and Catastrophe: A True Story by Roald Dahl)
3. Night of the Deep Ones (based on The Shadow over Innsmouth by H.P. Lovecraft)
4. The Eye of the World (based on The Story of Layla and Majnun by Nizami Ganjavi)
5. Of Mice and Men (based on Maus: A Survivor's Tale by Art Spiegelman)

i started a thread four months back asking guidance on how I'm supposed to go about adapting the literature works for rap songs (http://www.online-literature.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36607), and i used the responses to guide me in adapting the works.

i'll appreciate it if any of you could give me feedback on the mixtape, literature-wise, coz a lot of people (who aren't literature enthusiasts) think this mixtape is really neat and stuff, but for all i know it might be a horrendous butchery from a literary point of view. i'll never know unless i ask, so your comment is really appreciated.

this mixtape is not for sale, i made it free for download and streaming. copy and paste the URL into your address bar, if you will:

and this is a streaming of 'Ambitions as a Rider' if you're not keen on downloading the whole mixtape:

and i'd appreciate it if the benevolent moderator does not edit out the links coz they're essential to this thread. many thanks in advance :)

i know that not all people are fans of rap music, but i'm looking forward to any replies anyway so i can improve myself. cheers The Rhymeweaver

Pink Floyd's music makes a ton of references to Tolkein's Lord of the Rings trilogy.
