http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081105/ap_en_ot/obit_crichton:
Michael Crichton, the million-selling author who made scientific research terrifying and irresistible in such thrillers as "Jurassic Park," "Timeline" and "The Andromeda Strain," has died of cancer, his family said.
Crichton died Tuesday in Los Angeles at age 66 after privately battling cancer.
Sad. :(

Chrichton and King were my favorites, they reminded me that reading could be fun.

Never read his books but i'm re-watching the early seasons of ER at the moment, he created a great show.

He was one of a kind. A very talented guy. From what I've read, he seemed to be pretty level-headed about environmental-scientific concerns.
I've read a few of his books, and am a fairly faithful viewer of ER. He's given a lot of joy and entertainment to millions.

I was so shocked when I heard this in the news this morning that I literally screamed (ok, it wasn't a very loud sceam..). This is sooo sad! He was one of my favorite writers. His books were always so intriguing and entertaining.
I didn't even know he was sick :( It's all very tragic... :''(
