An interesting site (http://www.sacred-texts.com/index.htm)

I was wondering if any of you have heard of this place and if it holds any merit!

I have been searching for an acurate translation of the enuma elish, the gilgamesh stories, aswell as an acurate collection of Native northamerican traditional creation beliefs.

North American Aboriginal beliefs?

'Google' this name and follow your interests from the results: BLACK ELK

Black Elk, one of the last great native american Shaman is no longer with us, but his teachings drew anthropologists from all over the world.....much to his and his peoples chagrin. Though he died several decades ago it was during the 60's 'flower child' era in n0rth america when spirituality of any kind was being sought for its insight into a world in the throws of social change. I'm sure you'll enjoy the exploration Stan........it is fascinating stuff....

It's a good site. I've used it to extract stories for my mythology section of my literature classes.
I wouldn't call the material 'historical', though.

I meant historicle in that it claims to have the translations of some very ancient texts: ie the enuma elish. is all.
I think its a neat site, but I was originally worried about it acuracy...there are quite a few odd fenatical end o times website out there. ;)

For historical accuracy, I suggest you see Pritchard's Ancient Near Eastern Texts Relating to the Old Testament. Undoubtedly, the translations on that web site are not original and taken from another source.
