Talkin' lucky boy blues
I heard the bang of my letter box
and to my door I flew
was it one of the long awaited pieces of post?
The ones I want so?
'Oh no! Not today my son
we have more important things
come and see us we're the best!
Sell your home today'
sell my home I mused, maybe they are right
for prices have never been lower a sound investment alright!
And under this piece of paper I saw another that excited me
'Mr – you are pre approved for a new credit card!
Come and rack up your debt!'
now this was all getting too much for me
for what is a boy to do?
All these smart ways to use my money!
All these wise things to do
I slumped in my chair unable to believe my luck
when the radio came on
it was the leader of the country
telling how the country should borrow X millions to spend!
What a great idea, how lucky we are to have this man!
He can solve all our problems and leave us with money in hand!
Well as one might assume I was excited to know more
so away I ran to the newspaper shop
to see more of today's news
and as I got to the shop, the excitement was more than I could take
for I had ten pounds in my pocket
and for that I left with a paper, bread and eggs!
Oh what a lucky day it was! I could make money and spend!
It seems my luck was global for the inflated priced paper's front page did say
'global economic meltdown on the way!'
