Just wondering why Ginsberg, Burroughs and Kerouac dont have there own discussion threads? To me the beat generation was one of the most important eras of literature. Also no Bukowski?

Dear Friend,

I am glad you mentioned Allen Ginsberg. Actually, I am supposed to prepare a thesis on the Beat Generation. Therefore, I am asking you to do me this sort of favour. My help is to provide me with some books on the Beat Generation, and I will be very much obliged if u do. Thanks

You can find countless information on the authors and the novels of the so-called "Beat Generation" on the web. Here are some usefull bibliography links:

Jack Kerouac: http://www.emptymirrorbooks.com/beat/kerouac.html
William Burroughs: http://realitystudio.org/bibliography/
Allen Ginsgerg: http://www.litkicks.com/Biblio/GinsbergBiblio.html
Gregory Corso: http://www.nndb.com/people/406/000115061/bibliography/
Laurence Ferlinghetti: http://www.beatmuseum.org/ferlinghetti/FerlinghettiWorks.html
Gary Snyder: http://content.cdlib.org/view?docId=tf1489n5dm&chunk.id=bioghist-1.8.3&brand=oac

and, though not really part of the Beat Generation:
Charles Bukowski: http://www.popsubculture.com/pop/bio_project/charles_bukowski.html

You can find a lot of info on these and other artists in The Beat Museum: http://www.beatmuseum.org/

Hope it helps.

or you can go over to the General Literature area where there have been several discussions on beat writers and if so inclined you can start your own thread.

Trivia 1:
Why do you think Jack Kerouac quit Columbia University even though he was on a full scholarship to play football there?

It's all in his Maggie Cassady novel but I'll give ya the answer too. ;)

Trivia 2:
Who gave Ginsberg's Howl poem its title?

Trivia 3:
What does "Beat" mean? And, do we live in a 'Beat' world today?

Questions in the OP were answered :)

Please feel free to start threads on these authors in either the General Literature http://www.online-literature.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4 or Poems, Poets, and Poetry forums http://www.online-literature.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8
