A poem written after abstaining from smoking.

Indulgence of yeseryears' fun desire turned out
to be a fixation. Now, it's a monkey on my back.
What have I got? A poisoned chalice that
blackened and tarnished unknowingly? Inside,
I am so hollow, swallowed by the guilt. I am
feeling so ashamed that I couldn't keep
the promises, mother. But, how long can I run,
veiling the truth? Time unveils everything,
somehow. I am tired of pretending.
So aggravating. Now, I can't run anymore,
living a lie. I crumble in penitence
underneath your spotlight. I truly confess
that I was wrong, mother. Forgive me,
please, won't you? I want to breathe
a new life. I don't want to re-enter back
to that black hole again. I'm coming home.

I also have this monkey on my back, Dibyendra ... ;)
I liked the way that you voiced your thoughts on this subject, and I wish you well with this battle.

Thank you very much, Kiz. Oh, this must be the thing which everyone tries for fun and gets entangled for a long time. I also wish you a good luck on this battle. :thumbs_up
