Empty Space

This is space
it sits, waiting to be filled
you can fill it
a commanding
empty presence

It does not speak
but stares
with unblinking eyes
it does not flinch
but make you shrink back

It is intimidating
daunting
the way you know
you will be expected to do something
with it

Oddly it does not sit still
as you think it would
you do not witness its movement
but you feel it
as some thing moving inside of you

And you know
you are being called
why have you not yet
done anything
with this empty space
