Hi there.

I just surfed onto this site, and I must say that I'm quite impressed.

My name is John. I'm 38 years old, and married (9 years). I live in Kilmarnock, but work in Glasgow.

My me-time is divided between writing and studying/teaching Okinawan Karate, and I'm also a bit of a gym-junkie lifting stupidly heavy weights.

As for my writing, I'm working on a Supernatural Thriller, and I would like it very much if any of you good people would mind casting a neutral eye or two over it.

There is some baby swearing in it and one or two F's, they are not gratuitous, they build the character in question.

So, that's me in a nutshell, and I look forward to my time here.

John.

Welcome John. I'm glad you joined lit net. I think you will enjoy this forum. Interesting you chose the name Alcatraz, being you're from Scotland. By the way you live in a beautiful part of the world. I drove (actually I was just a passenger) from southern Scotland (somewhere in Robert Burns country) to Glasgow a few years ago and thought the locale was gorgeous. :)

Thanks for the welcome, Virgil.

The name Alcatraz comes from my Martial Arts background. 'If you lock up with John, you ain't getting out till he says so.'

Where I live (Kilmarnock) is Burns country. He was born in Alloway which is now a suburb of Ayr which is about 9 or 10 miles away from me.

Thanks again.

John

Are you lucky enough to live near Culzean castle? I wanted to see that castle for years.
Oh and welcome to Litnet!

Hi, and thanks for the kind welcome.

In answer to the question about Culzean Castle, from door to door it's about 18 miles from my house.

Despite the Castle being on my doostep, I've not visited it since I was in Primary School.

I know this might be a wee bit cheeky, but in the General Writing board I've left a bit of my work for a crit.

Anybody want to have a look? :)

Thanks, folks.
