Buddhist texts

What are the main buddhist texts? I have recently started learning about Buddhism and want to get some texts

There is the Dhammapada of course, a collection of 400 some verses of the Buddha, and then there are others, used by different schools like the Theravada, Mahayana or Vajrayana. I don't know what all are called, but there are Sutras for one, like the Prajna paramitam hrdaya sutra, or Heart Sutra, the Lotus Sutra, also. Those are texts, then there are also many commentaries by Buddhist masters, and also poems and contemporary writings by many Buddhist teachers.

Teachings of the Buddha in general are called Dharma. This site has a bunch of different texts, not all of them scriptures or sutras.
