I read a book long ago in high school english class. It told of a women who stayed home while her husband was off working or something. It was storming outside and the power went out. She saw someone's shape outside through the window when the lightning flashed and got scared. I don't remember all the details, but at some point she is in the basement and there is something about a wedding ring in a chest or something? Perhaps it was missing, or perhaps she found the wedding ring of a past wife. I'm not sure, but I think the person who is after her may be the husband from early in the story. She ends up running out "into the storm" which I thought was the title? It is a short story, but I am unable to find it anywhere through internet searching. Can anyone tell me what story this is?
