I love it when I am washing a palette
and the red paint spills on my hands
like lakes of blood
and I love when I am reading alone at night.
with every chapter I take a minute to read to a ghost.
I love seeing landscapes
and people holding hands
although it kills me, because mine are lonely
I love lilies
and Chicago
and Mexico
and Miguel, because even though he doesn't speak much english, he still tells me he loves me everyday. that I am his precious princess, his regalo de Dios, and that with every sunrise he will wake and think of me.
I love that in ten minutes I will be happy.
for five seconds.
I love spanish classical music, and the calming breeze of anxiousness.
I love the way drug dealers walk,
I love lampshades dressed in eccentric patterns
I love coca cola after makinglove, and when babies mumble
I feel like I hear angels whispering the most innocent things

Nice. The second half, where the I loves start every line, seems weaker and not just because of the increased I loves frequency.

Somehow, not surprised to find a Bukowski quote in your signature after reading that.

Actually I didn't care for this one. Sorry Paper. But phrases like "lakes of blood" seem over the top. Plus isn't there an inherent contradiction? First you say your hands are lonely and then you mention Miguel who loves you. It all comes across as contrived.

I especially like the eccentricity of this

the calming breeze of anxiousness.

and the humour and quirkiness of

I love coca cola after makinglove

and I think that the contradictions of which Virgil spoke are of the essence of this, that you are neither one thing nor the same thing ever from moment to moment...

Actually I posted this (twice, oops) in the wrong section. This is just my response to my friend's livejournal entry, she wanted people to post the things they love. I will post the link below if you have a LJ and would like to post!

And there's the link! It's really a beautiful thing she started....check it out!
