Isn't it quiet on Lit-net these days?

Well, as a literature network it'd be easy to think that we all spend our days either plugged into this forum or squinting at a book, but I'm sure that Lit-netters are not really that two dimensional. So I was wondering: what do you guys do for fun? Tell us about your non Lit-net days here; here's some of mine...

On Friday I camped in the back garden with my 4 year old daughter. It was cold and she wouldn't go to sleep, but we ate cookies at 23:30 and listened to the birds singing in the morning, and it was fun.

And today I'm going to the park on my rollerskates and that will be fun.

And I used to cycle for fun, but now I cycle to get places (but it is stil fun).

And even though I am over 30 now (:p) I can still do handstands and they are fun.

And I'm a Mum so I bake, and baking is fun.

And I like hiking up big hills. Big hills are fun. They're even more fun if you find berries and eat them. Yum.

So tell us Lit-net. What do you do for fun?

I find joy in most everything I do especially cycling. I ride mostly for fitness (average 2000 miles a year) but being out on a hot sunny day is pure joy.

Joy can be found in hard work also, the joy of accomplishment. This week I canned pasta sauce from the tomatoes in my garden. It took 12 hours start to finish but the sight of 42 quarts that will be enjoyed this winter, well, yummy.

What I do for fun? Huh... I:

-play basketball (less and less these days...)

-play chess

-listen to music (well, that shouldn't even count, I pretty much always listen to it)

-go out with friends/girlfriend

-play video games (not very mature? I don't care :D)

And there's more... These days, I read fiction for fun as well, whenever I have some spare time.

I like doing just about anything outdoors:
Running
Hiking
Camping
Fishing
Shooting
Golfing
etc.

I also love going to see live music. It doesn't even really matter what kind. That's one of the reasons I love living so close to Nashville. There are also a few bars in Clarksville that can usually be counted on for a good show.

Every thing is a fun to me; I sing songs, write poems, go to mountains, meet old relatives and old friends. I take everything as a fun and my work is also a fun.

Talking with all is a fun if we do it with an interest or if you get occupied with the one you talk to or be with.

This forum is also a firm and to be with all here is a fun.

In point of fact we must find fun in every thing we do.

Life is a fun in point of fact, and every act of us must be a fun if we can enjoy it.

When you can attune yourself to your work and if you can be at one with your work it becomes a fun.

I do Irish dance. I used to do a lot of ballet and jazz but I'm not right now...miss it so much.

I listen to music.

I eat. Although i hardly ever do that anymore. You know the less you eat the more intensely you can enjoy the food you do eat, so i guess i've been discovering the joys of starvation.

I spend hours on myspace doing absolutely nothing.

And i beta Lord of the Rings fanfiction for people.

I go shopping
I like to go to the Botanical Gardens and have picnics
I go to the park with my little girl
I read
I like to be by myself and do absolutely nothing
I love being taken for a drive in the country

When I feel like it, I cook - love putting things in the freezer ready for days when I don't feel like cooking.

In the summer I visit gardens - people with interesting gardens open them to the public through the National Garden Scheme and I love seeing the way they have used their land and solved problems to make places of serenity and beauty. I visit nurseries and plant sales and look for unusual plants.

I go to the gym - got to get these new joints working properly.

I embroider - not well, but I enjoy it.

I listen to music - I'm going back through my old LPs and reminding myself how much I liked them when I bought them.

I visit friends and we talk.....

Oh, and I read....

Going back home and have a tranquil rest is the most relishing thing to do,especially when it is raining,it has perked me up.Weekends I go to the community library with my mother and sister to search for highly-cited books, and it does not take a foolhardy time searching as there are a few people there.Life would be a nirvana if I could do what I yearn!

go to the movies (once or twice a week :D) and various lectures on cinema organised by the local movie club

watch more movies at home

talk with my best friend on the phone (sometimes for over 1 hour :D, she lives in a different city :()

i participate to various events organised by the antiracist movement in my town and various political groups..used to be a member of one, not anymore since i don't have much free time and these things need a lot of a person's time ;)

johann cruyff--You play Basketball ? I remember you as a great footballer and a boring and Pedantic speaker who, as a traner, foolishly put Gary Linneker on the wing. But Basket Ball ? Dear me.

Me?

I draw. Mainly I transfer aural waves to visual ones.

I play my keyboard and my piano. I really would love to have a synthesizer, an electric organ, a vocoder, a theremin, an omnichord, and I really want to play the guitar, but my hands are too small. Dad says if I get all A's this semester he'll get me a ukulele. Wouldn't that be awesome if I could find one that you could plug into an amp?

Hang out with friends.

Read. Der-hay.

Pillage the downtown vinyl record stores, thrift shops, and antique shops.

Learn. Yummy.

Watch movies, MST3K, 'n' look up new bands. to listen to.

Broom guitar. Way more awesome than Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

The end.

I horseback ride, but now that I work full-time (50 hours a week) doing so, it's less and less for fun...

I make fun, plastic beaded jewellry.

Learn the songs from Rocky Horror in hope of being cast in the play.

Play guitar and piano. A lot...

Take pictures of klickys
Spend some time in the internet
I write, sometimes -- whenever it isn't out o' suffering, it's for fun ...
music ... mainly hear it, but I try to do it as well ... poor neighbours (people who live in the same flat)
Play chess (even with myself!)
There was a time when I went out to a shopping center ... Bookstores, sometimes, and after that, I eat something!
Seldom have I walked by around the pool there's nearby ... It isn't for fun, though, it's more like a relax time
roller-skating! :thumbs_up I'm learning it, but it's certainly something I SHOULD do more often ...
maybe something else . . .

My idea of fun will truly make one think I'm a nerd, but I AM a nerd haha, proud to be one, even.

To have fun, I do the ff:
- browse the shelves for books at the bookstore or in the library
- read books or manga (Japanese comics)
- walk briskly
- play with my elder sisters. (I pretend to be their baby...)
- sing until my voice becomes coarse
- answer the daily crossword (but I haven't solved one yet)
- arrange and disarrange my stuffs
