Good afternoon, Pen. I'd love to enter, but as I understood the rules, I'm not eligible as a newcomer to your forum. I have to have at least 100 posts before I qualify. I work during the day, and so am unlikely to spend a lot of time trying to meet an entry level that is, for me, unrealistic.

That said, I'd love to enter a sonnet contest. I've begun my participation here with 2 sonnets, one in angry poems and the other in general personal poems. Neither has generated any comment yet, though I see a few have read them. That's fine with me - nobody knows who I am yet, so I don't expect much comment until I've offered my own thoughts on their works first.

In particular, I love form poetry, especially the challenge of getting the words out within the confines of the poem's structure. I've little talent for free verse.

Anyway, my response to your gentle jibe at us.

Hi Russell,
there are 'official' contests set up by the mods where you need 100 posts to submit and the inofficial ones that are set up by any member of the forum. The latter are free for everyone.
