The flamenco
As the mist settles onto the earth
There is a new birth
Of life and a type of peace
In the air as the dancers dare
To dream new dreams
And be a part of new things
Whirling and twirling
Swirling and curling
Their hands are alive with time
Is it really a crime
To challenge the mind
To push past all boundaries and barriers
It is but a thirst
As they kick up the dirt
And enter into a place of their own
Call it home they may
But no one can say
What this dance means
To each of their hearts
For it is through movement
When they become
A part of the art and beauty of nature
The river sings a song
And beckons them to come a long
Artfully, skillfully, and willingly
“Do you dare?” says the tree, “to challenge me?”
“and be a part of this energy we all share?”
“I’ll try” cries the dancer
as she looks for the answer
the peace and the love we all seek
the rocks on the creek
leak an expression of connection
and soulfulness of hopefulness
On the top of the waterfall their dance calls
The earth around them
To sink or to swim
On the brim of rolling waters
They have their final say
To you
To me
To the sight that we see
As they move just so
As if to show
And grow
And help us to learn
A little more about
The dance of
the flamenco
As the mist settles onto the earth
There is a new birth
Of life and a type of peace
