Greetings from Australia!
I'm having an amazing time here on the east coast! Sydney is awesome!
Been up to Cairns where i went and visited Daintree World Heritage Site. The worlds oldest rainforest! breathtakingly beautiful! Saw crocs, had dreams of crocs:sick: saw a green tree snake from a boat on the Daintree river:sick: Went for a swim in the Mossman Gorge.
took lots and lots of photos! (about 600 so far!yikes!)
Went to green Island and saw some of the great barrier reef. Then headed to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays. had booked into an absolute dump with had to stay in first night but relocated to an amazing room in a hotel for rest of stay! well worth an extra $65 a night for the three of us. sailed around the Whitsundays. went snorkling. saw lots of fish and coral.
Myself and my dad tried to catch snaps of a turtle that was bopping around in the water right at Airlie Beach!
Back in Sydney. Lots more to see.
Head home on Tuesday!
See you all next week!
Niamh xxx

Travelling gleefully and with liberty around Sydney is captivating!I yearn that I could go with my mother and sister therein to perk up and settle down in a homely hotel.

Glad you are having such a wonderful time - enjoy the rest of your stay and have a safe journey home.

(And have you had any time to read those books you were so concerned about? :) )

Good to hear that you're having a good time :D. I hope the weather is better over there than it was here. Many neighbours lost fences due to massive winds... I'll be leaving for Canberra on Saturday :D so we'll be on the east coast at the same time anywho :p (I'll be in Sydney for some time as well)
Can't wait to hear more about your time here :D

Niamh, glad you are having such a great time. How long did it take to get there from your area on the map? Wow, it sounds like a fabulous trip. Sidney sounds amazing and I loved your postcard. I collect those type postcards, since I was a kid. 600 photos is marvelous. My son always takes at least that many when he goes on vacation.

I read "Wide Sargasso Sea" awhile back and liked it very much. I have the film adaptation as well, but they did take some liberties with that. I liked the book very much. It is an interesting read because it switches from different characters in the book telling the story from their point of view.

Niamh, did you insert the memory card in the computer the right direction? I did this once and it will not read. I am not so familar with memory cards although my old camera has one; it also has a serial port connector for the computer and I always used that to dump out my photos. I can't use it on my new computer so I have to take the card in and out of the camera, which makes me a nervous wreak...I am just not used to that method. I can take mine out sometime today and see just what I did. To be honest with you - I only did it a few times and I forget just what kind of messages I got or how I found my photos to upload onto the computer.

Try not to panic! You can always take the card to a drugstore chain that processes photos and they can show you how to get them off. I did that the first time I used the video card this way instead of the serial port connector.

Don't handle the card too much - that can destroy the photos. I hope you get it solved soon but I will look into it also and let you know. What kind of camera is it? Is it a new one? Maybe the software is not installed or your need some driver. It might just be a glitch in your program.

Glad you had a great time in Australia! I can't wait to see your photos.

I've been putting it in the right way. I'm going to go into a photo place tomorrow and see what they can do. I think its gone faulty.
