Happy birthday!

How come salt lowers the freezing point of water but raises the boiling point?

Salt lowers the freezing point because it comes between H and O atoms so they will connect harder.
Salt raises boiling point because salt is disturbing molecules of water on surface to jump out.

Am I right? Sorry, but I didn't listen Chemistry on English language. :D
