What is the best book you've read in 2008?

As of now... I would say The Shahnameh by Ferdowsi.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame
or Northanger Abbey

or maybe The White Mare or The Know-It-All

Really, this is one of the most difficult questions to answer. If you had asked for worst book, now...that would be a different story. ;)

For me it was The Road. That book still keeps me awake at night.

Then you should truly read Blood Meridian... and Child of God

Humm...i would have thought this thread would have been for our opinions on the best book that was published in 2008 as opposed to what we read...
...but nevermind!
North and south by Gaskell
Norweigian Wood by Murakami for books in general.
Snow White Turtle Doves for book published 2008.

Not sure, actually:
I quite liked The English Patient and The Good Soldier, but I can never remember what year I've read a book.

So far?

I'd have to decide between Fight Club and Christine.

I know. I haven't read a classic book in a while.

Brave New World is getting very good. That might be a contender.
