This site suggests introducing yourself, so I thought, why not?
I am an American English Literature/Creative Writing major finishing up her bachelors degree. I'm very dedicated to the field and I hope one day with luck to be a professor (much work ahead!).
I am particularly interested in modern and postmodern fiction and poetry. I enjoy magical realism and surrealism. A few of my favorite authors include Haruki Murakami, Nabakov, and Kafka. There are so many I could list I will keep it to three.
I'm very interested in Asian literature right now, especially Japanese and what translations of Korean works I can find (not very much has been translated). I'm trying to learn as much Japanese and Korean through school and on my own as possible so that I might one day be competent to teach a comparative literature class.
I also have a background in philosophy as that is my former major and I've had an interest in it stemming back to my early teens. I am fond of Nietzsche, Spinoza, and medieval philosophy such as Neoplatonism.
I am very opinionated about my viewpoints, but I always find it interesting discussing opposite views from my own so long as others involved remain civil.
I think that's enough blathering about myself for now! :)
