They say she has a problem
Some trouble in her mind;
They don’t know what do with her
And the answers she can’t find.

When you look into her deep blue eyes
Black sadness is all you see,
And when you see the things she’s done,
You can hear her scream this plea:

She needs to get out,
Needs to be set free,
She needs to move very far away
And for a while, just ‘be’.

To sit in silence, just to feel,
Some passions boil within her, stirring her until
She knows that she can be alive
Without waiting always to die,
She finds a gleam of hope somewhere
In this ominously stormy sky.

When they look at her they can’t conceive
The battles she has to fight,
And even if they could believe
Judgment is harder in the light.

So they write her off as a hopeless case
And look the other way,
And when they cannot see her face
Silence tears will slip away.

Drip, drip, on the sodden pillow
Of the little lost girl no one knows,
And as the wind begins to billow
No one will miss her as she goes.
