Looking for a poem about friends

Hello everyone, I like what I read so far,nice group of people here. Can anyone see if they can me. I am looking for a poem that talks about having alot of friends and then it goes to narrow them down to just one friend. I don't know where to go to find it. I keep thinking about it and whant to read it again and again. Thank you for any hints you can offer.

Ok I was a teen when one of my friends gave me this poem. I can't remember the name or anything. I recall it talking about having a lot of friends in the world at the beginning like a thousand or so. Towards the middle it starts to narrow the friends down. Near the end it narrows even more friends. At the end it talks about how your left with two friends. That one that's left tells you, you can always count on them or if your left with just one person to count on it would be them. I hope this can give you some insight.
