A friend of mine sent these pics to my email. These are some animals found in the Sumatra's area where the Tsunami quake took place. They're probably some of those creatures residing in the darkest part of the oceans. But honestly some of them really give me the creeps...

from http://www.snopes.com/photos/tsunami/creature.asp

They are interesting pics...

"Although they are genuine images of some rather strange deep-sea creatures, these photographs have nothing to do with the Indian Ocean tsunami.

They date from mid-2003 and were taken as part of the NORFANZ voyage, a joint Australian-New Zealand research expedition conducted in May-June 2003 to explore deep sea habitats and biodiversity in the Tasman Sea.

These photographs can be viewed on Australia's National Oceans Office web site."

No offence to you sub, but I'm getting really leery of `claims' about this recent disaster, so had to check this out on snopes. I love the stuff of urban legends :D

no water from way down below is washed onto the shore, even in the really big tsunamis, so no deep sea creatures should come to light as a result...

at least thats my understanding...

Those still look like some fairly creepy and mysterious fish, and other sea organisms.
Thanks for sharing the pictures, sub and den.

Where do you think they come from then?

well... from the bottom of the ocean.... probably gathered by humans (or by unnatural means) and brought to the surface.

some of the fishes I've seen before as living deep beneath such as that orange spiky one, fang tooth and the small thin ones remind my of cave fish... and it seems natural that deep sea explorers took a sample of fish with them to study

Wow, those pictures are amazing! It's weird knowing that there are many creatures in the world that are yet to be discovered. Anyway....how freaky was the blob fish? It looked like it had human eyes... :S
