Okay, my first poem to be posted here. :) Go easy on me. This one alludes to another poem I wrote ("Playing House") that was kinda raw and in-your-face; so, hopefully me explaining that can avoid some confusion.

Chivalry is Dead

If at any point
the doors are shut
and panic overtakes you
Today's the night
I change your life
as hope springs temporarily
Today's the night
but night's not right
and it's the last time I'll look at love
the same
(Poor baby)
it's vague
like "Playing House" could never be
So this means words
must mean something special now
to (not) say what I feel
just string you along
on the occasional attempt
to make eye contact
Tonight's the day
the closet opens
as skeletons dance upon
your comfort
I'll trample on your business
because I'm doing this for fun
Tonight's the day
you'll turn away
and forget that this was bound to hurt
If at any point
the doors are shut
and by the roots
it shakes you
At the moment when you least expect it
I'll
tear
off
the
hinges
myself.

This is beautifully written, something enigmatic. I like the stuff.

I like it very much. I like the repetition, because it adds to it. Very interesting content, yet still neat in many ways. I hope you post more so I can read along. Thanks for sharing!
