The Less Than a Dollar Mouse!
I have this here wooden leg,
That I carved out
of a clothing peg!
It was made for Clotilda,
my pet mouse,
who is exceedingly accident prone,
around the house!
I've already replaced
one arm and a tail,
a lost left eye
and a right eyebrow!
Yet, once each month,
almost without fail,
she ends up in,
another travail!
Oh Clotilda! Clotilda!,
where would you be at,
If I also harbored a frisky,
pet cat!
For, as the most beset of meece,
you even have to eat
with tiny false-teeth!
The bullet, when you chewed on it,
should've blown off your head,
or, at least, should have caused,
a nasty split-headache instead!
You were lucky,
you managed to retained your head,
but it cleared your mouth
of all its teeth instead!
I must admit
you doesn't cost very much.
Just some little bits of wood,
to patch you up!
But, each time
there is less and less of you!
Soon you will be down
to a whisker or two!
All that will remain
will be that,
and your lack of luck...
