By a creek, shrouded by green canopy
Lies a young woman
She is content
Free
Yet a tear marks her smooth chin

She knows
That beauty is now
It never lasts
Beauty is in the moment
Free

Suddenly, by her shoulder stands a fairy
Green as leaves and brown as earth
It speaks to her;
“My lady you must realise”
“That all moments last forever”
“And that forever is now”
“Free”

The lady turns as to respond
Alas, the fairy is quickly gone
But not for good;
Because now she knows -
Everything is forever, and everything is now
Free

Always free.

This was beautiful as well as having depth.

Lovely poem, particularly, as I believe in fairies! Although they do tend to wear rose-cloured glasses...:)

Beauty is a short lived, flickering and fleeting thing.

A good composition. It left an impression and that is the motivation behind writing a piece of art.
