Alas, my fair maidens and gentlemen (and odd bits not properly classified) the day of my birthday beckons (in two days!) and I shall be receiving a puppy.

However, I do not know what to name this strange creature, for it is, alas, a mighty and ferocious chihuahua.

I thought something like Taco or maybe Krull the devourer of souls.

Any ideas? (if i get the name from here, I'll fill the thread with cute chi pics, I promise)

(the chihuahua is male, white and 1 1/2 hands long and same tall. It has faint spots. It's very playful and it's ears are pointed.)

My buddy has a chihuahua, male, and chocolate colored. He named it Scooter. He is such a cutie.

This may sound odd, but my dogs have somehow named themselves. We went to look at an alsation (German Shepherd Dog) and I had it in my mind that Boudicca would be a suitable name for the noble animal this little ball of fluff would grow to be, a force to be reckoned with, if you were an intruder. While we were inspecting the litter and my husband was being loved to death by one of the puppies, I became aware that one of her sisters who was hanging back and not taking part in the surrounding riot, was staring intently at me - the name 'Jenny' came into my mind for no apparent reason, but I crouched down and said to the little dog, 'Hello, you're Jenny, aren't you?' and this little creature came to me quite calmly and confidently and let me pet her and talk to her and, yes, she was the one who eventually came home with us and who still owns a large part of my heart.

Our next dog was going to be called 'Bella', regardless of breed. We ended up with an Old English Mastiff, a huge brindled beauty with a black velvet face and a regal manner. She deigned to come when called at least once a day, walked on a lead when the mood took her, otherwise turned back for home or just sat down (and there's no arguing the case with a nine stone canine) and though Bella was appropriate because she was indeed beautiful, somehow, it just didn't 'fit'. It was only when she had been with us for some years that I realised this was the dog that should have been called Boudicca - she was the queen, the rest of us were just her subjects.

Why not wait and see what fits your new little task master? (Aren't tacos something you eat, btw??? :D )
