to conquer fear

Can anyone suggest some books where the main character may deal with the issue of how to conquer fear within himself?

The Jolly Corner by Henry James

Native Son by Richard Wright

I also thought of The Premature Burial by Poe, though this is more of a physical fear, about a character trying to combat against his phobia.

I would recommend you The Wall by Sartre, I guess that it is not particularly about conquering the fear, but the first short story is definitely about fear...:) maybe it would help...
