I have a few really short stories (I call them mini - stories). Leave a comment about which one you like or if you don't like any of them - why. Thanks for reading.

Dream

When you wake at night and sit in your bed, covered in sweat, breathless and anxious about something which hasn’t actually happened, what do you think? When the urge of breath overcomes your fear of life; when you lie again in your bed what do you dream? When the feelings from your heart are gone, what do you dream? In the moment of exhaustion, of desperation and spite, what do you dream?

The sands of the endless time make your dreams become insignificant; make your wishes weak and your mind- foolish. So you didn’t answer: what do you dream? Do you dream of the sun, shining upon you again; do you dream of gloom falling on you like a heavy lid; do you dream of love with its burning grip; do you dream of eternal power? Or do you merely dream for another glimpse of your reverie; another glimpse of your fantasy world, where, spellbound by the power of the dawn, you drink from the cup of the sun and drunken by its power, fall in the endless pit of pointlessness? Is that what you dream? Is that what you desire?

Kiss

Her face is closer to mine than ever… our eyes stare at each other in affection- nobody could break us now. My hand rises up without me ordering it to move. Slowly and impatiently I touch your soft cheeks- silk! Your lips touch mine and we kiss… Nothing could break us now… The feeling of warmth rises up. Oh, time, stop your endless travel and make this moment permanent. Oh, time, can you believe that my heart is reborn? My angel spreads her wings and takes me in the sky. We fly surrounded by butterflies and the love’s first touch burns on my lips. Nobody could break us now… Sparkles of thousands suns warm us with their light. We can be like this forever, spellbound and feeling the power of the kiss, the union of two souls, the celebration of our hearts. Your embraces are what I yearn for; your lips are the fire marks of my wishes. Oh, my love, stay with me until the end of the world, until our love shatters to pieces and our dreams collapse with furious shouts. Then we can rest, but now… oh, now… Be with me for another minute if you can’t wait for the whole eternity. Be with me only for moments and we’ll be unbreakable. Only another kiss, merely another or I’ll die. This kiss will last forever… in my memories.

The light in my room

The light sweeps around me and hugs me tightly. But why is it darker than ever? I convince myself it is only my imagination bothering me again, leaving me without my sleep.
Gleeful sparkles of the lamp come sadly down upon me. The room is flooded by light; the windows are its only escape. The light wants freedom, the light wants life. Being in my humble room is not enough for her, not enough at all. The light wants to see the dawn of its mother, the big sun; the light wants to travel through the fields with whispering grass; the light wants to be something else, not merely a light from a lamp. No, the light does not want to be my helper, let alone my tool for seeing.
At my half-closed eyes the light is preparing to leave, preparing to be liberated. There’s no sweeter taste on her lips than freedom. But wait light, you have to wait me to finish. You have to help the helpless one. And the light looked in my eyes with gentle sparkles and stayed to wait for me to finish this dreaming of mine.

Close your eyes

Close your eyes - I won't fade into the blue. Close your eyes - my heart beats so bravely. Beauty lies upon your face but please close your eyes. Hide your emeralds, hide the two doors to your soul. Close your eyes and look at me through your dreams; let our souls touch without exchanging glances.

Close your eyes and look at me in the light of your desires... In your reveries am I the same, I wonder. But close your eyes - let us merge into an infinite ocean, let us dream together of a world more beautiful for both of us. Tenderly sing along the birds, calmly sound the harps of the heaven's angels...

Close your eyes and let's fly together, to inhabit remote places where the webs of the memories do not exist; where everything comes down to the present and to two of us. Close your eyes and let me glance at you...

Let us, in the starry and glinting night, touch our lips under the tender moon. Let the stars sing a ballad about us, let the lights tremble beneath us.

Close your eyes, hug me and stay with me in the night. Let's dream together under the playful stars. The gloomy night shall embrace our bodies, clouds shall be our sheets. And like that, embraced and together, dreaming, and burning in one flame, to stay like this forever.

I love kiss and close your eyes.

I like your imagery.

I agree, Kiss was very powerful and Close your Eyes had some very nice imagery. My only suggestion is to adopt these to stanzas some how, because they read more like poetry to me then anything.

And I really didn't get The Light in my Room. But still, good work.

I have to say that my favourite was The light in my room. It was beautifully written and I enjoyed the way you personified the light so that it became a character in the story.

My least favourite was probably Dream, largely because it was written in the second person, which I don't enjoy.

Your work is strongly lyrical. You could perhaps even argue that these are not stories at all, but rather poems. Either way, really good work. :thumbs_up And highly recommended to other litneters.
