The Shack

I just finished 'The Shack.' Have you read this book? If so, what is your response?

I checked it out in the bookstore, didn't seem like a book that would appeal to me. Seemed to be along the self-help/inspirational tale line of fiction. God wants you to be happy and successful, that kind of thing, the message the mega-churches are putting out.

'Course, I only flipped through the book. What did you think of it?

Several words occur to me, including cloying, obfuscatory, and glurge.

The story is a hodge-podge of recycled elements from other stories, and never gets around to answering the question of why bad things happen.
