these are my books for next semester. do you all have tons? have you read these? do you read outsidenovels during the semester even though you shouldn't? (i do.) i was very much under the impression i'd be able to do that, but after visiting the bookstore today, i can see that's nowhere in the realm of possibilities until may. well...maybe a paragraph here and there... (tsk, tsk. can't be helped!)

psychology
The Devloping Person (22 chapters)
math - this will be my fun text, lol
weight training
Weight Lifting Throughout the Life Span (or some such title, have it on hold, waiting for resuscitation of credit card machine at discount bookstore)
kinesiology
Lab & Lecture Manual, also illustrated text (but i have the Coloring Book, teacher!)
anatomy text (this time i get to learn the origins, insertions, nerve supply and actions of all 600 muscles rather than just 60 or so, et cetera, ad infinitum...) must see if i can use the one i already own.
history: race and ethnicity in america
W. E. B. Du Bois - The Souls of Black Folk
Anzia Yezierska - Bread Givers
David Walker's Appeal
Anne Moody - Coming of Age in Mississippi
The Declaration of Independence and Other Great Documents of American History
and the main text (Major Problems in American Immigration and Ethnic History)

nyet, pre-nursing. i'm already a cert. med. assistant, so it made sense to keep doing this and go further. i wish i had twenty years to study chem., physics, and do research but...
...the good news though is: this great counselor just saved me a semester's worth of classes, so rather than minor in math, i think i might spend those random units studying spanish 2, latin 1, italian 1, and american sign language (asl) 1. :) :)

Hurray for nursing students! I did not even know that about you, amuse. I am also a nursing student (second-year in an associate's program, hoping afterwards to transfer for a bachelor's), minoring in English literature. Diverse topics, I know, but I feel fairly passionate for applied science and world literature.
I wish you the best of all greatest luck, amuse!

Amuse, I found the psychology books were just as much fun to read as any book I would have chosen to read for fun or pleasure. The information is so relevant and fascinating that I'm sure you'll really enjoy it! I've finished a couple of years of Psychology and found the text books chock full of little games and stuff you can do to your friends..hehehe............for example, planting false memories for fun and profit.....

i despised my psych class because a counselor messed up and said i needed it as a prerequisite (mind you, it was the last class i took to get my certificate) and while in class my school mailed me my career certificate - and i took my state boards during midterms.
turns out i do need it for nursing, but at the time i really wanted to take physio from this wonderful research scientist turned prof.
i like the looks of this developmental psych test, however. :)

this is wonderful! i think that's excellent, and more well-rounded than diverse. :) if you have two passionate lives, both the sciences and lit, why not explore them both?
oops, i mean passionate loves. freudian, aye?
