One of the troubles with using a wireless key-board is that, either due to low batteries, or dirt in the works, a letter will not register when you hit it, or will only do so very rarely! Giving rise to the following sad poem....
"-" has l-ft m- all alon-!
I sm to hav lost th ltr "-"!
Somhow it got away from m.
So my alphabt has shrunk a bit
consisting now, of twnty six!
Whr it has roamd to I do not know.
That dirty littl so and so!
It upd and wnt without a word,
which som would say, was quit absurd!
I might put out a rward for it.
If my wif found out, sh'd hav a fit!
For sh would say you nd it to writ,
and blam m bcaus it took a flit!
Whrvr you ar, lowr cas "-"
wont you plas com back to m?
Whattvr I'v don to piss you off
Plas com hom.
For, without you I'm lost!

"fat(e)"
Cruel "fate" with the "e" removed!
A sight that disgusts...
Loveless obesity.
No pheromone
that can heighten lust, to overlook!

Hello? Did your alphabet

have twenty-seven letters to begin with?
And are you familiar with the novel written by Georges Perec entirely without the letter "e"? (It has been similarly translated into _nglish)
An explanation I heard is that Perec, a Jew, lost the whole of his family in the Holocaust, and as the pronunciation of "e" in French is very close to that of eux for "them," he wished to communicate that he wrote it without them...
My own ambition, in response to that, is to write an entire novel employing nothing but the letter "e".

In the past, it was the quill finding the inkpot empty, or the broken tape in the typewriter!

Hi! "Prince" No...I well remember that there are twenty six.
There are several, not so obvious, attempts at playing games in the poem.
My new "alphabet" consists of "twnty six" instead of "twenty six" so it has and has not shrunk a bit!
I have heard of (I think) but not read the book.
When the mood takes you and you write your book in "e" minor, I shall have to buy a copy!:)

Clever as always goldenrod. Are you quite certain you didn't drop a crum or two from your egg mcmuffin? ;)
And Prince, I thought the story of Perec was a beautiful one. I appreciate you and your knowledge so much.

I see that in the Spanish translation the "a" and not the "e" is left out, because the "a" is the most common letter of the alphabet in that language! Which seems to defeat the second reason for the omitting of the "e"?

So true! Laboratory experiments with partial words have shown that, with most letters removed from any phrase, a smooth cognative reading is possible...

This is creative, I reckon.
It makes a kid love letter, a teenager love his/her label, and a grown-up miss it..
