Deleting old threads...

I am a teacher using this forum for my students. I want to delete last year's threads to encourage this year's class to be original (or at least think they are being original) in their comments. Is there an easy way to delete a thread? I followed the instructions on the FAQ but didn't work. Thanks.

Basically, they are all of the forums started by user coltrane except IB Big Fish IB. Does that help? Would it be possible to move or hide them? I'm kind of a packrat, even with online stuff...
