My Fair Lady
Those eyes burn into my soul
while she smiles eternally
from beyond time and space
How I long to posses her,
to hold her within my arms,
how my dreams are haunted
But who is she,
this enigma that has
me so captivated?
I shall never know the truth
for by now she and all who
knew her are but dust and bone
Yet I cannot escape;
and everyday I must visit her anew
to wonder of the life she must have led,
the things which made her laugh
I shudder at the thought
of those she may have loved,
though I know her I can never have,
to me she was lost before ever
she was found
It is my fate
that I have fallen in love
with the maiden in a painting.
Those eyes burn into my soul
while she smiles eternally
from beyond time and space
How I long to posses her,
to hold her within my arms,
how my dreams are haunted
But who is she,
this enigma that has
me so captivated?
I shall never know the truth
for by now she and all who
knew her are but dust and bone
Yet I cannot escape;
and everyday I must visit her anew
to wonder of the life she must have led,
the things which made her laugh
I shudder at the thought
of those she may have loved,
though I know her I can never have,
to me she was lost before ever

It is my fate
that I have fallen in love
with the maiden in a painting.
