why is the heart heaviest when empty?
the soul is blackest when surrounded by light
why is the rose most beautiful, when laid in debris?
why is the moon it`s brightest, in the darkest night?

they say all stars burn out, vanish into the depths of time
when will the sun cease to shine upon our decreasingly green earth?
the trees are becoming something of a dreamlike state to me, sublime
perhaps a single seed will float into the sea of eternity, to give the gift of birth

how did my life come to be?
was i merely a creation of lust?
i think i`d have to disagree
i`d like to think of it as trust.

Very good Nightmare. It is rather an interesting poem that, in my percpective deals with something that is going on, unaswered questions if you like, and they are somehow dark.

Your poem started me thinking...

The question was once asked:

"Why does evil exist?"

The best answer I have come across is:

"It exists, because without it, how would we recognize good?"

Unfortunately, the phrase "This too shall pass", refers to the good as well as the bad!

All presently constituted stars will burn out in time, but new ones are constantly being created.
All will burn out if the "Big Bang" is a
singularity...if not, all bets are off!
