Your values in life

That every value evaporates and man submerges into dusts is a fact we are not aware of in point of fact. We have been warned, forewarned by spiritualists or Gurus to do something so that we can have a better afterlife. What is that better life? More luxuries? More women? More wealth? Or we will get closer to God. What is our real value in life? God or holiness or anything divine?

I really can not say what we should do in life that endures everything and becomes the ultimate truth in the end. I prayed immensely, day in and day out, read sacred texts, tried to undergo a series of mortifications in life and even singled out myself from the rest of society for years. But nowhere could I find something to take refuge in.

Charity appealed to me to the highest degree and I tried. Indeed this is comparatively subtler than others. But the majority has, in my part of the world some motive in doing charitable works, to secure space in heaven or to do something so that you can prosper enrich your afterlife. Again the motive is to be richer and more prosperous. This is how we fabricate our values in life. Meanwhile our society that includes our parents, our Gurus, our bosses and relatives manufacture our values.

To many, money is something incalculably valuable. We entrench ourselves in making more and more wealth. But in the course one loses life. Some aspire to be a writer, a star, and something else.

We know all these things fleet and fade at the end of the day. I am too in the same eddy.

I am not a judge, for I can not be out of this pool to claim “liberated”. I am in the here very much with the rest of you, but a little confused. All of us are confused and maybe I am a little more confused and that is why I scribble this piece. I do not know, maybe to confuse you more.
