Water Is Forever
Water whispers softly,
a murmur against the roar,
but its voice remaining
forever memorized,
echoing in the mind,
while all else
is only momentary
fading away as soon
as it passes
Yet water is forever,
a trickle that runs
in the stream of thoughts,
taking you away
from all other noise
of meaningless sounds,
but water imparts a message
Flows freely,
reshaping as it is shaped,
following a course along
the trail it blazes
Water is immortal
and never forgotten,
wearing away steadily
with each passing age,
always the sound of
water can be found
even as a faint gurgle
or a resounding roar.
