When a fine wine
has ceased its breathing,
can you say that it is dead!
Should it receive
the solemn last rites
of The Church
and its cork laid, lovingly,
to rest!
Or are there other ceremonies,
that might be initiated instead?
For..."In vino veritas."
So, may all wine grapes
be blessed!

This Is Just to Say
I will sip on
the wine
Sauvignon
Blanc tonight
no doubt
you may sip as well
a grape
of your choice.
Picture me
my glass raised to you
for this
joyous poem.

I suppose that in my "bio" I should have included my love of wine, but, as I left most of my activities out of it, I should leave it just at that.

I shall be off to Alaska on September 7, where I shall engage in a two week search for that which is harder to find than the "grail" itself...a bottle of wine, pressed from Alaskan grown grapes. Once found, the first glass will be imbibed in your honour, my friend!
