[jikan myshkin]

I write to you, Madame
For you have created art that can break the heart
I spoke to you proudly
But my soft voice was lost
I sit here on top of this concrete cliff
Gazing out over the sea
And I cannot help but wonder
If you are in such a study,
In montreal
Composing such useless thoughts as me

Your poem took me back to the first time I was in Montreal. The rain began to beat down on the sidewalk with such intensity, the bounce-back soaked me up to the knees!
I was with an 82 year old retired Avro engineer who had just completed a month of touring the U.S.S.R. on his tod!
