The Sound of Poetry

I have known rivers,
For I have known poetry.
Poetry is
A long, sinuous river,
sometimes calm and serene,
sometimes powerful,
thrashing about,
exerting a great mighty force,
twisting and turning,
creating music,
music that can never be fully heard.
Deep and mysteriuos
you shall not know
how it all willl end,
for with every line and every fork,
surprises await
at each and every bend.
Poetry will wash ashore a keen sense of insight.
Alas put aside all your troubles and tribulation
and do not weep
for as surely as the river is deep
you will surely find peace.
