I do not know if it is caused by my particular configuration of Firefox 3., or the forum software, but I have experienced the following on-going problem:

1. I log in to LitNet, verified by the "Welcome jgweed" box to the top right.
2. I review NewPosts.
3. When I attempt to post a reply to one of the threads I have selected to read, I am forced to log in a second time to complete posting a reply. Yet the "Welcome, jgweed" box still shows.

Since I have learned to copy the reply before completing the second log on, this is only a minor inconvenience, but I did want to bring this to the administrator's notice since others may be having the same problem.
Regards,
John

It is a cookie related issue I think. If you click the remember me box & enable cookies it shouldnt be a problem (or of course you could just stay permanently logged on)

That sounds logical, but does not fix the problem. Thanks for the idea, though.

Cookie issue. Make sure cookies are fully enabled, I mean fully, many browsers will block them, or not even your browser, but overzealous security software. Then, restart for good measure.

If you have cookies appropriately enabled you should never have to login again unless those cookies get erased, you can go years without having to remember your password.

Just you know... don't do that on a public computer, but on your personal computer, it really is convenient.

Thanks for the reply, Chris. I do in fact have cookies enabled, as well as passwords. This problem only exists for me, as far as I can determine, on this forum (vBulletin) and not on other forums (e.g., IP Board software).
I could understand cookies being erased, but not if I don't log off (or in the case of Firefox, close the application completely); it seems rather to be that the log on does not "take" when I navigate between some pages in the forums.

As I said, it is not a big problem, and I have a work-around for it. Thanks again for replying.

In anycase, considering cookies are entirely on the user PC, it really is a browser issue or a pc issue of some sort, nothing on our end here.

Personally, I sometimes forget my password I go so long without having to type it in.
