Below, is one squib in a series I call "faunetics". Each time I respond to posters (if any?!) I will post another one...
The Cougar
I knew a Cougar
who blared "AH-OOGA!"
it really was a hoot!
Instead of roaring,
which it found boring.
It would gleefully yell...
TOOT!...TOOT!

That's funny. But what is the connection between responding to a post and writing a faunetic (I like the word play-very clever)?

"The Hare"
I do not care for potted hare.
The ears take up
too much room in there!
So, I eat a dish that I like better.
I think the Germans call it,
HASENPHEFFER!!!

I've always wanted to creep-up behind a Norse or Greek God, with a brown bag full of air, to see if the "bang" would cure him...like it might a mere mortal!

"The Loch Ness Monster"
The Loch Ness Monster, "Nessie",
has a most checkered history,
and, whether she exists or not,
is still a deep, deep, mystery!
Does she live and swim
in those cold and stygian waters?
Has she ever given birth,
then giggled in outright mirth,
with, any bonny daughters?
Or is she but the first and last
Of her mythical scottish clan?
Should a bagpiper
play a mournful dirge...
For an imaginary, also swam!?

The Crow
A fat, old crow
sat in a tree,
it's body perched,
precariously!
His body swayed
from side to side.
No matter what,
the poor bird tried!
One talon stuck
into the air.
Which gave no purchase,
firmly there...
The limb in question,
seemed to me,
to be having trouble,
with it's knee.
But, as I pondered
its sad plight,
said a voice within,
"That can't be right!
"For, where we humans
bend the knee.
Is not in the bird's
ANATOMY!"

The Homing Pigeon
When one thinks upon the sight,
of a homing pigeon in full flight.
One wonders how,
through day and night,
the pigeon gets its direction right!
It does not fly, haphazardly,
from house to house,
or tree to tree.
But, once released, and soaring free,
a bee-line home, with ease, makes he!
No use to ask the how and why,
it knows which way that it must hie.
It seems that once it's in the sky,
it needs not ask a passer by,
it's homeward route, to verify!
For, instinctively,
he seems to know,
along which line doth fly the crow!
