Worms!!

Dear friends ,
My pc got infected by a WORM.
I am really upset cz I wanna know who sent it to me :flare: :flare:
I think he is one of my "suppppposed friends"!!!
I have read once that we can know personal information about the sender : the country and the city and stuff like this ... trough the IP??
I don't know how to deal with this problem

detected: riskware Hidden data sending Running process: C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe
deleted: Trojan program Trojan-Spy.Win32.ProAgent.21 File: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\HOOKAPI.DLL

Moreover eachtime I sign in in the msg I get a report of an intrusion
Intrusion.wim.MSSQL.worm.Helkern Ip:117.101.128.129 UDP

Do you have any anti-virus software running on your computer now?

I suggest Avast (http://www.avast.com/) and Zone Alarm (http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/home.jsp) They are free and stop infections/hacks etc. *before* they happen :)

The only info someone can get from an Internet Provider address is the geographical location of the IP (Name of provider, city, country, etc.) They do not get any personal information about you.

I don't know Kaspersky...but maybe you should do a full scan with it now and when it detects this worm remove it, depending on the version you have.

It will show you what *your* IP addy is at top of page; where it is located, and there is a link to seeing it on a map. You can also enter the IP of someone else in the Lookup IP Address field, and get same information.

Again, all this is meant to show is the information regarding your internet service provider and where they are located. But sure, a person can assume that you are also located in the same basic area.

try Lavasoft SE Adaware. Thats what i have on mine and its quite good. you can download it for free from their website.
