I set to the barch
for the council of spirits,
but reith advised soundly
to never go near it.
Being deaf to sages
and illiterate to pages
I departed to the barch
and with glee:
told reith that "I made it!"
I filled up on wine
but only nibbled the bread
for man cannot live
when strictly leaven is fed.
"Drink like water the wine,"
I believe Jesus once said.

fun to read
reminds to live as happy a life as possible, regardless of what others say.

Thank you. I'm glad you extracted both pleasure and meaning. It has been awhile since I wrote a poem, so I'm happy to know that the mechanics still work.;)

I have liked it very much. Nice rhythm and looking at the last two lines, the tone can be interpreted as being sarcastic too.
