I'm noticing a lot of the short fiction I'm writing recently is hovering in this 1000-1500 word range. Sometimes longer, but that's seems to be the range a lot of my stuff is going in and I'm wondering if this is a bad thing. Is that too short? I feel like the story is whole, and I generally am satisfied with them(which, in general, is all that matters) but I'm wondering from the perspectice of possible publishers and the like, is this too short to get serious attention? Is it more likely to be considered amateurish right off the bat because of length?

I feel that as long as your story is whole, and has all the parts necessary to create a story, then there is no such thing as too short. Obviously, you don't want to write something that's about 100 words, but 1000-1500 sounds fine.
good luck

Length can be reduced infinitely and length does not matter if you have something interesting up your sleeve irrespective of size you can spin a good story.

If you have good topic to write about, you can write only few sentences and it could give us a sense. I donīt like stories with many words, which I am not able to understand in the right sense. All writing is about an interesting topic to write about.:)
