I dribble when I fiddle!

I dribble when I fiddle!
That is, play the violin.
I wait 'til no one's looking
then, surreptitiously
wipe my chin!
The pressure is enormous
I'm having sleepless nights,
especially home in Seattle
after exceedingly long
air flights!
The fine lacquered wood
is buckling, there must be acid
in my spit!
but I can't think of another way,
of getting rid of it!
I've stuffed my mouth
with absorbent cotton wool,
cauterized the saliva glands,
used half a pint of unguent
and anything else at hand!
But, I still dribble when I fiddle,
I may have to give it up!
For, if you dribble while you fiddle.
Your smooth playing,
the flow of water...interrupts!
"not quite a natural progression!"
Into each life, a little rain must fall.
(God help those, who can't swim at all!)
Sunshine always follows rain.
(No help for those swept down the drain.)
It's always darkest before the dawn.
(Not for those, swiftly through a sewer, bourne.) .
One day your ship, it will come in.
(Yeh!, It'll be Noah's Ark, and I haven't a twin!)
Don't give up now, stay the course.
(Fifty percent of marriages, end in divorce.)
God helps those who help themselves.
(Mobs cleaning out, full grocery shelves?)
Rich man, poor man, beggar man, THIEF!.
(Calling a spade a spade, brings you some relief.)
Tinker, tailor,soldier, SPY!
(Aye!, there's the rub for you and I.)
A single robin, doth not a summer make.
(Okay!, enough already!, will ya give me a break!).
