Interesting . . . for some reason, at the poem's beginning, I could suddenly see this worked into a melodic song.
Hmm, let me read it again . . .
Your use of metaphor seems particularly strong in this poem, which I love, especially with the title of a "Windiest Day;" and the line breaks add a mysterious, dark character to the poem's expression:
"anything would've been
easier than
life"
It reminds me of taking quick, shallow breaths to thoroughly pronounce each word.
